Yes. We will need to evaluate each dog separately, as well as together to determine the optimal training for them
We are very excited to announce we have a new private client area of our website where you can communicate with us, and you can receive updates about your dogs training.
Once you have dropped off your dog for training, you will be given a private login to access the client area.
This is where you will go to find training updates and videos of your dogs training progress.
More details will be provided when your dog comes for training.
Every dog and owners situation is evaluated on a personal basis. Generally speaking, your dog will learn to come, sit, place, heel, and down. Any behavior issues will be evaluated prior to training. It is our goal to provide you with the optimum training for your dog and situation.
Yes! We have numerous lessons with you and the dog. The dog does not return home until you are comfortable and confident with the commands and the training.
Depending on the age and maturity of the kids, they can have some part in the training. The trainer will be able to tell you what will be in the dogs best interest. Sometimes just teaching the kids fun games to play with the dog works great as well!
The application process is just to reserve your spot for the training. We only take 4-6 training dogs per 3 weeks, so it is important to put a deposit down if you have specific dates in mind (ie your planning vacation) also around the holidays we tend to book up fast. Otherwise we will take your dog as soon as the first spot opens up, normally 2-3 weeks being the most wait time. We do have instances where it is an emergency training (aggression issues) or if you unexpectedly have to go out of town. We try our best to accommodate your schedule.
Bring the food your dog is currently eating. Everything else we have! If we will need to administer any frontline or heart guard put it in a plastic bag with the date to be given.
We know you will miss your companion while they are away learning, and it depends on your dog if it’s in their best interest for you to come and visit! Some dogs don’t mind and other dogs can get depressed if their owners come and go. I would never not allow somebody to visit their dog, but will advise my opinion once I meet your dog if I think it will not effect the training. In order for the training to be the most effective I need time also to bond and make a relationship so I can teach your dog the commands and hurry and get them back home to their families! We also will keep you posted with up to date training videos and pictures.
We do offer refresher training, so if you go out of town for a week you can reserve your dog a spot for training. We also offer group lessons with your dog so that you can practice your obedience around distractions. It is called our proofing class and is normally held once per week and we meet at a local park.
Now that your dog has graduated basic obedience, there are many more activities to get involved in. We offer the AKC canine good citizen evaluation, advanced obedience, off leash training, sport training, and service dog training.
