About Our Training
What will my dog learn with your Full Service Training?
Before you leave your dog with us, all your goals and training expectations including, any behavior issues, will be discussed, evaluated and incorporated into your training program so that you will know exactly what is involved and included in your dogs’ training. We will keep you updated throughout their stay with progression videos. View our Full Service Training.
Will my dog listen to me after the Full Service Training program?
Who will be training my dog?
At The Doghouse, LLC your dog will be trained by Carrie, The Head Trainer, not by an assistant or apprentice trainer. (Click here to see credentials).
We do have other amazing staff members that will assist in keeping your dog feed, clean and happy!
It is Carrie’s experience and special connection with dogs, that you are paying for therefore it is ONLY Carrie that trains your dog.
Is it ok if my kids are involved in the training?
Sometimes, a great way to get the kids involved with the training is to teach them fun games to play with the dog. During the” go home lessons” it is encouraged that the entire family be present so that everybody is clear on the new commands and rules.
I have more than one dog that needs training. Can they be trained together?
How long is the application process for the Full Service Training?
The Doghouse, LLC usually only takes 4-6 training dogs per month.
It is important to put a deposit down if you have specific dates that need to be planned around (ex: vacation). Holidays are another time when the kennel and training sessions book quickly. When a spot opens, your dog will be enrolled for training.
One to two months will normally be the longest wait time. There are times when emergency issues (aggression) require immediate training.
If other unexpected instances requiring you to be out of town or family emergencies occur The Doghouse, LLC will work hard to accommodate your schedule.
What do I need to bring with me for the Full Service Training?
Bring the food your dog is currently eating. If we will need to administer any frontline or heart guard put it in a plastic bag with the date it is to be given.
Florida Statutes require that your dogs’ up-to-date shot records be provided.
If you choose to bring a blanket or toys for their kennel, possibilities are strong that it may not come back in the same condition!
Can I visit my dog while they are in the Full Service Training?
We find that some dogs will be indifferent to visits but others can get depressed if their owners come and go.
The Doghouse, LLC will not tell somebody that they can’t visit their dog, but will discuss, with owners, possible effects on their dog. Carrie needs to bond with, and develop a relationship of trust with your dog. This is an important step in the learning process for your dog, and an important consideration in advising about visits.
After the first week of training The Doghouse, LLC provides training videos and pictures of the dogs’ training progress. This helps clients to see how much their dog has learned in a short time.

Do you offer refresher training?
We also offer group lessons so that you can practice your obedience around other dogs and distractions. It is called our Proofing Class and is normally held once per week in a local park.
This group class is a great way to keep your dog socialized with other dogs and owners in real life training scenarios. All under Carrie’s expert supervision!
What comes next after the Full Service Training?
We offer the AKC canine good citizen evaluation, advanced obedience, off leash training, sport training, and service dog training.
When and how do I pay?
If you are paying for Private or Group lessons, payment is due at the end of the session.
Boarding fees are paid when you pick up your dog. The Doghouse, LLC accepts cash, credit, and personal checks.
Which Full Service Training Program should I choose?
Customizing a program just for you or answering any questions you might have is just a phone call away.
If you want your dog off leashed trained, or taken to a higher level of training be sure to ask about these programs.
Should I choose Private Lessons or a Full Service Training Program?
- How much time do you have to put into the training?
- Will it be best for your dog to be submerged into a “training environment”?
- How consistent can your training be at home during the learning stages?
- How consistent will other family members be so that the dog doesn’t get confused or frustrated?
These are important reasons why one training program might be a better choice than another.
Making the right decision can help your dog better enjoy learning and obedience.
The right decision can also help you better reach your training goals.
With a Full Service Training Program, The Doghouse, LLC, does all the training work until the program is completed. It will then be your job is to prepare the family for a trained dog.
Reinforcing the commands at home will be important in helping your dog listen in its environment.
A Full Service Training Program takes the stress off of you to consistently work with the dog on a daily basis.
If learning alongside your dog is important then, Private Lessons is the program for you.
To have success with Private Lessons you will have to make time to practice what was taught in the lessons at home. This enables both you and your dog to fully learn the lesson and be prepared to progress during the following training session.
Why should we choose your company when there are cheaper trainers out there and shorter training programs?

As a family owned business we understand a budget! When it comes to the amount of time I have your dog, my full service training is a minimum of 3 weeks.
Yes, there are other trainers out there that claim they can fully train your dog in 1 week, but the reality is your dog will not retain reliable obedience in that short amount of time.
The other trainers might be able to put on a temporary show for you making you think your dog understands their new commands, but what you are seeing is the dog running through the motions of training and will not be able to duplicate those behaviors if put into different environments or training scenarios.
Training is a life change with your dog and in order for your dog to truly understand obedience it takes consistency and repetition. Training cannot be forced or rushed; it is not fair to do that to the dog.
After training at The Doghouse, LLC, your dog will be confident in their obedience commands no matter what the environment.
We feel that we have a connection with each one of our dog and human clients. That connection is crucial to trust us with always having your dog’s best interest in mind.
When your dog is with me, they become my pet for their stay. We don’t just train your dog and disappear; we hope to build lasting relationships here at The Doghouse, LLC.

What will my dog’s day look like?
This program of events is designed to fit each dogs special needs.
When dogs enrolled in the Socialization or Aggression Full Service Training Programs are ready, Carrie will take them to local restaurants, parks and shops to train.
When your dog is with us for Boarding, his day is structured around play times and feeding.
The dogs (both the boarding and training dogs) are divided into play groups according to temperament.
Boarding is offered ONLY to our clients that have completed one of our training programs. This ensures we are knowledgeable and confident of the temperament and training of our boarding dogs.
Where will my dog sleep?
Cameras in each room will be monitoring your dog at all times. The safety of your dog and the cleanliness standards of The Doghouse, LLC is a top priority.
It is our goal to ensure your dog returns home happy, healthy and of course trained!
What are your hours for boarding and pick up?
It is required, therefore, to make dog drop off and pickup by appointment insuring that our training sessions are not disturbed. There are no drop off or pickups, on Sunday.
We are flexible with scheduling, but please be aware if you are more than ten minutes late you may be cutting into a scheduled training time and there may not be anyone available to bring you your dog until after that training session is over.
