Spring Full-Service Dog Training Programs
With spring right around the corner and the thought of new home projects, now is the perfect time to include tidying up your dog’s obedience in those ideas! We also have clients take advantage of pairing fun spring break vacations with getting their dogs trained while they are away. One of these great springtime opportunities can benefit your family for years to come.
Our most popular programs at The Doghouse LLC are the Foundation and Distraction Board and Trains.
The Foundation Program is geared around young dogs (At least 6 months), clients more home-based with their pets, and dogs with specific issues around their homes, such as jumping on guests, house manners, digging, barking, and lack of purpose. Our training methods are supported by a balanced approach and understanding the roots of the dog’s behavior. Our training facility has an upstairs apartment where we can recreate a lot of household frustrations such as chewing, counter surfing, and door bolting. We also use that space to mimic working from home with the dog. Common behaviors in this scenario include being pushy when the owner is on the computer or the phone, whining, pacing, and experiencing indoor restlessness. This program is perfect for clients who want to enjoy the local park or walk around their neighborhood with their dogs. After the training, we transfer the obedience and manners back into the home environment during our go-home lessons. Each package consists of 3 private lessons between the trainers and the family. It also includes 3 group lessons held at a local park.
The Distraction Full Service Training Program includes all the details in the Foundation, but we also add glorified field trips all around town. Some of our favorite spots are Home Depot, Downtown St Pete, Seminole Lake, Walter Fuller, Beach Drive, Cassis, Annex, and any specific area a client wants to take their dog to. We make a point of exposing the dogs to urban, natural, and restaurant environments while training. It’s not just about obedience; it’s about having fun and bonding with your dog in different settings.
If you are interested in learning more about our training packages, we would love to set up a meet-and-greet. With spring in the air and school breaks, we tend to book out because we can have six dogs at a time, and that’s with two trainers! A lot of individual work and attention goes into these pups! We understand that each dog is unique and tailor our training to meet their needs and your specific goals.
Happy Spring,
Carrie Wooddell
