Here is how to safely include your dog when walking a baby in a stroller.

Having a well-mannered dog while pushing a stroller is a must. After your baby arrives, you want to include your dog in as many activities as you can surrounding your newborn. If your dog is used to pulling on the leash now, lunging towards people/dogs, or continually fighting you over leadership, it will be challenging to manage both the dog and stroller. These videos demonstrate each step on how to teach your dog a Halti tool. Your walks will become less stressful, and your dog will enjoy the benefits of being part of the family stroll.

Move through these videos at your dog’s pace. The most significant part of them wearing the Halti is accepting it on their muzzle. Each dog is unique in how they respond to the training tool. Practice each video until you and your dog succeed at that step, then move to the following video. Don’t rush any steps. The dog I used in the demonstration took about a week from start to finish. I chose a dog with the personality to challenge the Halti to get a good example. Some dogs will immediately be indifferent to the training tool, and you will breeze through the steps. Enjoy the process!
